Go for the magic.
Reach the last latitude.
An exclusive expedition in a small group
Crossing the frozen Arctic Ocean to reach the northernmost point on Earth is a challenge that only a few can meet. Countless expeditions attempted to reach the North Pole at the turn of the century, many of which came to a tragic end. Even today, the North Pole is still a magical destination, as it is not located on safe land, but in the middle of the constantly changing frozen Arctic Ocean.
Highlights
We land on an ice runway and experience Barneo, a drift ice station
We move over the frozen Arctic Ocean and push ourselves to our limits
We experience the unique light and atmosphere in the northernmost region of the world
We reach the North Pole

Expedition Details
Starting Point. Our starting point for the expedition is an adventure in itself: Barneo, a drift ice station on the 89th parallel, is a unique place that has been set up and dismantled every April for many years now. Scientists as well as adventurers use this oasis in the ocean. We reach the Barneo station in an Antonov plane.
To the 89th latitude. We are flown from Barneo to the 89° latitude by helicopter. After taking off again, the silence of the Arctic descends over us, broken only by the occasional sound of ice. We begin our journey through the ice labyrinth that nobody can foresee. Wide expanses of ice alternate with press ridges that have to be climbed through, and now and again we also see open water.
Physical demands. Under a low sun, we slowly make our way further north. How long our tour lasts depends on the weather and ice conditions: The ice can also move south. Temperatures can drop below -40° Celsius in April and strong winds can make the perceived temperature seem even lower. Stamina, physical fitness, and careful decision-making are essential here.
Daily routine. We walk around seven to ten hours a day with regular breaks. Everyone pulls a sledge with their own luggage and some of the shared luggage. After around seven to eleven days, we reach the North Pole and celebrate this achievement extensively before being flown back to Barneo by helicopter.
“Moving on ice is a unique experience. The white surface can be friendly or deadly, its magic is beyond words.”
“Even though it's just snow and ice, you remember every step, each effort, every day.”
